last night's gig in london

the gig to re-launch The Selecter as a new band happened last night at the Hoxton Bar & Kitchen in London.....I was very pleased to be onstage with such great players and performers.... and the audience seemed to agree!! my new songs appeared to be appreciated judging by the dancing!! the atmosphere was great and I feel it's safe to say that everyone in the band and the audience had a very enjoyable evening. we're looking forward to announcing more gig dates very soon. A big thank you to everyone who has helped me to bring about this new version of The Selecter in 2010.

pics of one-off gig 31 mar 2010

some photos by John Coles of a one off performance I did 31 mar 2010 with some great musicians as part of the bbc's "history of the world in 100 objects". as some will already know, Jerry Dammers" original lyric sheet was chosen as one of these objects so it was my privilege ( I've known Jerry since 1975 when he joined the band I had formed with Ray King) to get to play a set of instrumentals in a different, cooler vibe from the usual loud and frenetic gigs I usually play!!
