new selecter track free to download available any day now

please come and visit again over the next few days.....I'm aiming to make the new selecter track available for free download from this site to mark the 30th year since 2tone records released the first single "gangsters vs. the selecter" very soon.......

30th anniversary of 2Tone Records being launched in March 1979.....

.........with the release of "Gangsters" vs. "The Selecter", a double A sided 7inch vinyl record, which climbed to no 6 in the uk chart. I am very proud to have been a part of this first record. It was created by the musicians involved without much outside help and came out of the frustration of life in Coventry at the time. These things have been said before but the main thing is the music......both Gangsters and The Selecter sounded good.

the 1st 2tone single

2008.......rare uk appearances!! continued..........

thanks to everyone for the good wishes for my gigs...
yesterday was the debut gig for p.j.'s all stars ( clive bunker on drums - roger inniss on bass - p.j. wright on slide guitar/vocals - myself guitar/vocals ) and we had a great time playing at the sheringham little theatre, thanks to all the backstage people who looked after our outrageous pop star needs all day!! and and an even bigger thanks to everyone who came to see us play. p.j., clive and roger are top drawer players and it's a real pleasure for me to be onstage with them.

2008.......rare uk appearances!!

over the next few months I'm teaming up for some gigs with P.J.Wright and John "Johnny Slide" Alderson as well as preparing for a possible 30th anniversary celebration of The Selecter's formation in 1979. more on that as the year passes.

myspace page now up........

http://www.myspace.com/neoldavies. it has taken a while I know but it's there at last! if I could just get the video to upload I would feel better...and you could see it. it is being worked on but there does seem to be a problem with this at myspace, if you know what let me know...
I am enjoying the album by luz mob very much, it is the kind of record that almost everyone would like, it sounds better each time, always the mark of good music.....
