Hi Noel
A reunion tour? I would like to see that! I know its a big call but any chance of coming to Australia? Trying to get Dave Wakeling and crew to come here so i can only hope!!! I have seen Madness a few times when they came here back in the early, mid 80's and Australian ska bands from back then,The Allnighters,Strange Tenants,No Nonsense,The Leftovers, etc. Haven't heard the new Selecter track yet as i have only just signed up.
Cheers
Simon

Neol,
For the record............
1/. My favourite all time album...........Celebrate the Bullet.
2/. My favourite all time gig........Selecter @ City Gardens, Trenton, New Jersey, July 1991.
3/. My favourite all time band......the Selecter, of course!!
So YES, please reform the original Selecter if at all possible! Hope to see you on stage in the NY/NJ area next year!!
Tim.
Really hope to see the Selecter make a return with the full original line up, Pauline Black still looks and sounds great. Maybe even a 2 Tone reunion tour would be possible since the Specials are considering getting back together too
Hi Neol my main man you asked the 1 million dollar question shoud I reform The Selecter or not?
Noel my answer would be yes contact Pauline, and the other guys and if they say yes The Selecter would be reborn
selecter with the original lineup would be great to see Neol.
really hope something comes together
stay special

Hi Noel
A selector reunion ? Sounds good mate and like all the 2-Tone bands of the late seventies they always sound better when they have the original players playing,so good luck with it and i hope you can pull it off.
Best Wishes

Re Music Marathon - it was August 14th !970 - I was there - all night!!
I thought you had organised it but I seem to remeber someone called Vic there but can't remember musch about him - possible a drummer!
John Bradbury rehearsed at the Umbrella at the time with Nack-ed-en - Loz Netto (later of Sniff and the Tears) was their guitarist - he was a brill drummer even back then. Was always amazed at his drumming and how he contributed to the structuring of the band's songs - more than a drummer I'd say.
At one stage someone in a trench coat fell asleep with their head resting in the bass drum during a break - they didn't wake up even when the drummer started playing again - must have had a hell of a head ache next day!!
Yo Neol, seeing all those pics is weird cos I can't remember you being that good-looking! How you doing with that fantastic Brooklyn cover of The Selecter? Your studio looks great. Its sort of fantastic that still after all these years we still surround ourselves with hardware/ software that facilitates music production (rather than simply consumption). Its good to be in contact again. By the way, my daughter still wants your autograph!!!
Hi Neol, Kev Harrison e mailed your blog. Great to see it. Funny enough the Jam Session at the Umbrella flyer was one I didn't have in my collection - nor was it in the Cov Archives Umbrella collection. These bits of history might be useful now with the development of the Cov Music Exhibition proposed for the Herbert in 2009. If you are not up on it - there is a post on Hobo and Pete Chambers and Rog Lomus are involved. I may do a post on you for Hobo and a link to your blog if that's ok.
Will have a good read of this later - keep the the music coming - Trev.
