over the next few months I'm teaming up for some gigs with P.J.Wright and John "Johnny Slide" Alderson as well as preparing for a possible 30th anniversary celebration of The Selecter's formation in 1979. more on that as the year passes.
the first gig will be at "The Rhythm of the Blues" Folk and Blues weekend festival in Cromer with P.J.Wright's All-Stars, 8 March, where we will be headlining the afternoon part of the event. P.J. has been a great friend for many years now and we both enjoy the chance to get together like this. we may be able to play some more gigs with this line-up depending on the usual things, availability, inclination, sobriety etc etc.
look out for "Johnny Slide & Neol Davies" gigs in the Midlands area in the coming weeks.
John Alderson has also been a great friend for even more years! since the late 1960's in fact, but in all that time we have never played gigs together. not anymore! we have a fantastic show 'under construction' and will be announcing some dates very soon. many people will have seen John play with The Travelling Riverside Blues Band, and some other fine bands, and they know first hand how he can tear it up, so we're looking forward to playing.........
if you feel that The Selecter should reform please make your feelings public on the relevant blogs. at the moment the concept needs some 'encouragement'!!
